The Coming Again of our Lord Jesus Christ

I. What will be the time of His coming again?

II. What are the signs of His coming again?

A. Increased Satanic activity - II Timothy 3:1-9; I Timothy 4:1-3; Revelation 20:3.

B. Powerless formalism in religious life - II Timothy 3:5-8; Luke 18:8.

C. Widespread indifference to spiritual matters - II Timothy 3:4; Luke 17:27-30.

III. What will be the manner of His coming again?

A. His coming will be personal - Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:15.

B. His coming will be visible to all - Revelation 1:7; Acts 1:11; Luke 17:24; Matthew 24:26-27.

C. His coming will be audible - I Thessalonians 4:16; I Corinthians 15:52.

D. His coming will be without warning - I Thessalonians 5:2-3; II Peter 3:10.

E. His coming will take the world unaware - Luke 17:26-30, 21:35; I Thessalonians 5:3.

F. His coming will be sudden - I Corinthians 15:52; Luke 17:24; I Thessalonians 5:3; Revelation 22:7, 12, 20.

IV. What will take place at His coming again?

A. All of the dead will be raised - I Thessalonians 4:16; John 6:40, 54; Acts 24:15; II Timothy 4:1; Matthew 12:41; John 5:28-29.

B. All the world will be judged - II Timothy 4:1;l Acts 17:30-31; Jude 14-15; Matthew 25:31-32; Revelation 20:12; II Corinthians 5:10.

C. The righteous will be rewarded - Revelation 22:12; Matthew 13:43, 25:34.

D. The wicked will be sentenced - Matthew 13:40-42, 49-50, 25:41; II Thessalonians 1:7-10.

E. The righteous will receive immortality - Philippians 3:21; I Corinthians 15:51-54; I John 3:2.

F. The righteous will be caught up to be forever with the Lord - I Thessalonians 4:13-17; John 14:3.

G. The present heaven and earth will be destroyed by fire - II Peter 3:7, 10-12.

H. A new heaven and a new earth will appear - II Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1.
